Monument erected to cosmonaut Leonid Kadenyuk

On December 5, 2020, at the Baikovo cemetery, a monument was unveiled to the first cosmonaut of independent Ukraine, Leonid Kadenyuk.
A charitable foundation was opened, and everyone could support funding to create a monument to the Hero of Ukraine Leonid Kadenyuk. The sketch of the monument was chosen by the cosmonaut's family. The sculptor Anatoly Gaydamaka made a monument depicting an astronaut in a spacesuit with a raised arm and symbolic wings from the Columbia shuttle. And the Fotosklo company made photo glass the emblem of the shuttle Columbia on which Kadenyuk flew into space, and an embroidered shirt under the glass, an exact copy of the towel that belonged to the Kadenyuk family.
Let us remind you that Leonid Kadenyuk died on January 31, 2018 at the age of 68.
